Football Wins at UNLV, Johnson Earns Player of the Week

Following the Rams win at UNLV on Saturday, the Mountain West Conference named RB Gartrell Johnson Offensive Player of the Week. It's Johnson's first such honor, and the first time a CSU player has received a weekly award since Damon Morton captured Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 2, 2006. The Rams' last Offensive Player of the Week was WR Johnny Walker, Sept. 11, 2006.

Rams fall short vs Cal, Sperry out for the season

Colorado State took No. 10 Cal to the brink Saturday, but came up just short of an upset. The Rams scored two touchdowns 53 seconds apart to turn a 34-14 deficit into a 34-28 nail-biter with 2:54 remaining. [more]

Tight end Kory Sperry tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the first half of the game. The injury ends Sperry's season. [more]

Football drops overtime decision to the Buffs

The lastest installment of the Rocky Mountain Showdown came down to the very end, with Kevin Eberhart's 35-yard field goal in overtime giving Colorado a 31-28 victory over Colorado State on Saturday. [video highlights]
